Preventive Maintenance Plan
Kohler Generator
In order to keep your Kohler generator in peak operating condition, routine maintenance is necessary so we offer a Preventive Maintenance Plan to assist you in this task.  You have invested time and money in selecting your generator so that your family will have the required standby power to bridge unforeseen power outages and you don't want that generator to fail when you need it the most because the fuel filter wasn't changed or the air cleaner is clogged.  Preventive Maintenance helps you avoid the stress of requiring emergency service.  Let us give you the peace of mind you planned on when you selected Kohler.
Services included in our Preventive Maintenance Plan:

The following Services will be performed Semi-Annually
Generator Safety Check
ATS & Components Safety Check
End-Performance Analysis
End-Performance Measurement
Clean and Service Battery
Run System Under Load

The following will be Inspected Semi-Annually
Warning Lights
Fuel Lines and Hoses
Fan and Governor Belts
Engine Block Heater
Thermostat **
Automatic Transfer Switch
Generator Components

The following will be Checked Semi-Annually
Lubricating Oil (Add)
Radiator/Cooling System **
Fuel Sediment Bowl (Clean) *
Air Cleaner
Crankcase Breather
Battery Charger
Air, Fuel Filter

Lubrication System Inspection:  Oil, Air & Fuel Filter, fuel System Lines & Gauges, Fuel Separator


Cooling System Inspection:  Belts, Hoses, Radiator, and Radiator Cap


Battery System Inspection:  Battery Charger & Starting Battery, Clean Connections, Apply Anti-Corrosive Protection


In Addition to the Semi-Annual Services, the following will be performed Annually:

Change Oil and Filter


Change Air Filter as Needed


Change Fuel Filter and Separator


Perform Antifreeze Analysis.  Test for Freeze points, nitrate levels and corrosion inhibitor levels ** using a visual color test
   procedure

The generator owner will be furnished with an inspection report denoting conditions found and further service required, if any.

Our Preventive Maintenance Plan for Generators does not relieve the owner of periodic checks and testing as outlined in the manufacturer's service manual.
