"For fifteen years I've been struggling with my basement flooding from heavy rain. Inches of water would seep through cracks in my foundation; often ruining irreplaceable items I have collected through the years. I had to raise everything up on blocks to try to save my treasures because I couldn't always tell when it was going to flood. I can't remember how many times I had to rearrange my schedule, even postpone a vacation once, so I could be home to babysit my cellar. It just became too hard to lug the gallons of water of the basement stairs and out into the years. I decided to call Rapid Service to see what they could do.
During my first appointment, I went over my options with the plumbing tech and decided a sump pump would be the best solution. As we talked, he told me Rapid Service could also have their electrical department install a dedicated circuit to my panel box so I wouldn't have to worry about turning the pump on manually. I would be able to leave the house when it rained! He also explained that Rapid Service would dig a trench for a drainage pipe so water would properly flow away from my house instead of into the basement.
The price was reasonable and there was absolutly no detail left unattended.
When the work was complete, Rapid Service has completely exceeded my expectations. Their professionalism and diligent work ethic was impressive. I don't have to worry about my storage anymore and my back no longer suffers from hauling floodwater. The sump pump worked.
I don't know of any other company that would bring in fresh topsoil to cover the hole dug for the trench, hand rake it to level out my yard, and finally, re-seed the area so new grass would grow.
I have never been so impressed with any other service company to date and I would recommend Rapid Service to anyone."

"I would like to thank you for the great service that we received from your company. We had what we thought was a leak from a pipe in our basement. Brian came out and assessed the problem and made an appointment to come back a few days later. When the wall was opened, a much larger problem was discovered. He was able to call for a carpenter that same day. This was a God sent, because if I had not called Rapid Service, I would have had to find a carpenter myself who would work around the plumber's schedule. Brian and Chris fixed the plumbing and Pete and James did the carpentry. Pete also suggested that this was something the our home owner's insurance might cover which was a great suggestion. "We are extremely satisfied with the new deck and want you to know that. From the very beginning of the project, Jim and Henry paid close attention to every detail. As a matter of fact, the building inspector himself was quite impressed with it.
Jim masterfully crafted a cabinet to enclose our unsightly circuit breaker and generator boxes. His work ethic is commendable. His suggestion to paint the cabinet, instead of applying stain, was just great. It significantly brightened a very drab corner of the room. "I have never dealt with a more trustworthy and honest repair company. In early 2012, Rapid Service renovated our bathroom. The results were fantastic and both my wife and I were ecstatic! In the Fall of 2012, a manufacturer's defect in the sink became apparent. Although the supplier from which the sink/countertop combination had been purchased would not warranty the sink or ship a new one, Andy from Rapid Service was not willing to take no for an answer. He convinced the company to provide a new sink and personally drove to Vermont to secure a suitable replacement. He then came and installed the new sink one day later at no cost to us. Andy even remembered the shower handle my wife wanted had been unavailable back in January; he must have seen one since because he brought one with him when he fixed the sink and installed it to surprise her. "I'm writing this letter because I am most impressed and pleased with the wonderful service I received this past winter from Rapid Service in Columbia. The water pipes froze twice and after the first time, the pipes were wrapped with fiber glass insulation. Then the pipes froze again. I had lived in my home only a few months when this happened. It was quite scary, as the pipes could burst, doing great damage. When it happened again, something had to be done.
Andy Hul of Rapid Service came when he said he would, even though it was the record breaking, coldest day in January, and there were many calls he needed to complete. Andy looked everything over, discovered that the water pipes were placed incorrectly on a cement slab, on the outside bay, on the north side, with flimsy insulation. Then, an sheetrock wall was built over them – trapping them in the coldest place. Also, two of the main water valves were damaged. The water pipes needed to be moved inside the wall, proper insulation needed to be placed in the outside walls and the water valves needed replacing. Andy worked quickly and well. It needed to be extended to two days, the second day was to place all of the insulation. Andy was most optimistic throughout the process, and when it was finished, there were no more problems, through this long, brutal winter. Andy left every area where he worked cleaner than when he began. I had total peace of mind. His work, at a most critical time, was high caliber, extremely well done and throughout, Andy was in good humor. Also a special thank you is deserved to Rachel, who is an important individual in the team. She kept me up to date on Andy's arrival times and she answered my many questions with patience and knowledge.
I am most appreciative and feel deep gratitude for the wonderful service provided by Andy Hul and Rachel from Rapid Service of Columbia, at a critical time. I highly recommend Rapid Service!"

"Rapid Service has come to my rescue twice in the past year with three plumbing fixes. A year ago, my wife was very ill and could not be moved from the house. The well pump quit in the afternoon and Rapid Service was called. With much snow on the ground, they found the well-head and started the diagnosis and repair. They said the pump was bad and would have to be replaced, but it was getting dark and they would have to return the next day. I informed them of my wife's condition and that she could not be moved and that we would need water for her care.
Under "the lights", they worked through until after 9 PM to complete the pump replacement and returned the next day to replace the water storage tank. My wife passed away six days later, but we did not have to put her through any more discomfort than necessary by moving her. Great job.
Now I am trying to sell my house and the water heater starts leaking. I started to replace it myself, but since the original installation the fittings on top of the heater have changed and I could not find the proper hardware to complete the replacement. Enter Rapid Service with a truck full of cures and within an hour and a half, I was up and running again.
This company is the most professional, courteous, friendly and efficient in both plumbing and electrical repairs that I have ever been privileged to interface with. I would not only recommend them to ANYONE, but they would be my first call for any plumbing or electrical troubles.

Confronted with a very difficult situation due to the recent cold snap, we had pipes bursting throughout the house of my father in law while he was hospitalized.
